Ware Road Day Care Centre, Hertford, a project commissioned as part of Elliott Fastrack's Mace/Hertfordshire County Council Framework Agreement, has been selected to appear in the SCALA Yearbook 2009.
SCALA - Serving Construction and Architecture in Local Authorities - is a collaborative organisation of public sector archtects and related professionals committed to assisting its members in achieving the highest possible standards in the development, design, construction and management of the public sector estate for the mutual benefit of their employers.
Each year SCALA publishes a Yearbook containing photographs of around 60 publicly funded schemes, and also makes an award to the client and designers of the best building project selected for entry to the Civic Building of the Year Competition.
Ware Road Day Care Centre is a state of the art day centre over 2 storeys and clad externally with a combination of Sto Render and timber and included extensive external works.
This project shows how attractive and innovative solutions can be found to resolve the challenges faced by all those involved in public architecture.
